When is the best time to see turtles at Lanikai Beach?

I will be visiting Oahu and have heard that Lanikai Beach is one of the best beaches on the island. I also heard that turtles are often seen on the beach. When is the best time to see these turtles at Lanikai Beach? What other beaches in Oahu can I expect to see turtles?

The best time to see turtles at Lanikai Beach is to go early morning or late evening. Please also be aware that the best place to see them is on one of the Mokulua islands, these are 2 small sub islands just off the coast of Lanikai and Kailua beach. It is possible for you to swim out to these islands but it is recommended that you rent a kayak and paddle out to the islands instead, as the swimming can be difficult or dangerous. Many locals often paddle out to the islands on a surfboard. Besides seeing Hawaiian Green Sea turtles, you will also get a chance to see many colorful birds, some native only to this region.

Sharks Cove Beach is another popular hang out spot for many Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. They are often seen swimming around in the water just off this beach. You may also spot a few at Hanauma Bay while snorkeling in the Bay.
