My Wife and I want to take a relaxing vacation to the islands. We live in a city so would probably like to avoid too much of a busy city experience. Any recommendations?
Oahu is the most populated and is the only island with a major city (Honolulu). At the same time however, there are locations on the island that are very peaceful, relaxing, quiet, and yes beautiful. Besides that, if you are looking for the extreme quiet and relaxation i would recommend Kauai, Lanai or Molokai. Maui and the Big Island would be somewhere in between, in terms of activities and popularity. Keep in mind that you can find relaxation on all the islands to some extent, however. If you are interested in attractions, activities and beaches then you could first research the islands for these activities and choose the island that is most appealing to you for these activities as step one, then depending on the island chosen, look to stay in a remote and relaxing location on that island in order to satisfy your need for quiet relaxing time. You can then venture out from your hotel to the populated and busy areas when you please and return to the quiet comfort of your hotel after.
Our Hawaii Vacation Guide provides information on all the islands. Browse and do some research on the islands to find the island that is most appealing to you, or the island that features the activities and attractions that are most appealing to you. If you have any additional questions we are always here to answer them.
