How fast can i learn to surf in Hawaii

I am interested in learning how to surf while on my trip in Hawaii. How long will it take for me to be able to get going surfing?

Aloha Becky,

It all depends on you, the learner. And, are you a good swimmer? Most average to good swimmers can learn in 1-2 days. Depending on the Hawaii island that you will be visiting, and the beach you will be visiting, you may be able to rent surf boards on the beach as well as pay surfing instructors for a few hours of surfing lessons. For example, if you are going to Oahu you will be able to find sufing instructors and get surfing lessons on Waikiki Beach and on most North Shore beaches.
