The Dole Plantation in Wahiawa, approximately 40 minutes from Waikiki, is an excellent stop to observe and learn about Hawaii`s past and present agricultural industry. The many available garden tours through different areas of the plantation are both adventurous and informative.

A favorite attraction on the plantation is the famed Pineapple Garden Maze. With an approximately 3 acres of total land area and over 3 miles of pathways it is recognized as the world`s largest maze. The entire maze is built from almost 12,000 different Hibiscus plants and has a giant pineapple formation in the center of the maze. There are a number of checkpoint stations in different corners of the maze to keep those traversing it honest. Be prepared to get lost quite a few times, but you will have fun doing it.

The plantation opens daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and admission starts at $4.00 for kids and $6.00 for adults. Parking is free.
