Maui Eco-Tours, Hiking & Nature Walks
An alternate way of getting up-close and personal with the nature side of Maui is to venturing out on a Maui Eco-Tour. You can do you by either hiking or partaking in a Maui Nature Walks tour. Eco-Tours usually offer hikes or rides to unpopular destinations on the island and is an intriguing twist when compared to the more popular major attractions in Maui.
These tours usually offer breathtaking views of the island that are often not seen. A Maui Eco-Tour is a much recommended Maui activity if you are adventurous, loves outdoor activities, or if you are just love nature. Tour guides are recommended whenever you want to venture out on one of these tours. Tour Guides will help you locate the special points along each given tour as well as supply you with any information or historical facts about the different things you may encounter during your hike. Try to do some research and book with tour providers that have been around for a while and hence have experienced staff.
Some tour operators will offer lunch and water. This will save you the trouble of having to locate and purchase food and water during your tour or hike, or the burden to have to transport food with you during your hike. If the tour provider you booked with does not supply you with water, or you do not wish to purchase water from the provider, please do remember to bring some with you on your hike to keep yourself hydrated. Also, bring sunscreen and bug spray to protect yourself from mosquitoes and other bugs. You should wear comfortable attire, running shoes or hiking boots, and a hat or visor. Tevas (strap sandals) are good for the rain forest treks, but not for anything strenuous or mountainous. Please also note that your shoes may get muddy or dirty during the hikes, so hiking boots or trail sneakers may be preferable.
